“Interlocks” covers the various types of interlocks, how to identify an interlocked device, and interlock bypassing. “I/O - Simulate and Ignore PV” looks at the Ignore PV function and how it affects control, detailing the simulation feature and when it should be used. The “Device Permits and Modes” module covers permits and modes and how they are used in day-to-day operations. “Ownership and Device States” explores the role of the owner, ownership types, and their usage in process control. It describes the role of Modelock and explains the device, operation, and failure states of devices. Finally, “Commanding a Device” walks through the steps to successfully command a device and change its mode.
