Course Description

In this course, participants learn how to read and interpret a “Piping & Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID),” describe the identifiers used on a P&ID, and where they appear in the “Distributed Control System (DCS)” display. The course examines the use of the “Front Sheet,” which serves as an introduction and reference guide for the P&ID. It also explores other supplemental documents, including “Process Flow Drawings (PFDs),” “Piping Material Specifications (PMS),” “Equipment,” “Instrumentation Specifications (EIS),” and “Functional Requirement Specification (FRS).
