Course Description
In this course, participants learn how to read and interpret a Piping & Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID), describe the identifiers used on a P&ID, and where they appear in the Distributed Control System (DCS) display. The course examines the use of the Front Sheet which serves as an introduction and reference guide for the P&ID. It also explores other supplemental documents including Process Flow Drawings (PFDs), Piping Material Specifications (PMS), Equipment, Instrumentation Specifications (EIS), and Functional Requirement Specification (FRS).
